Strength standards are benchmarks used to categorize lifters based on their one-rep max (1RM) relative to their body weight. These standards help you understand where you stand and set realistic goals for progression.
Rating Categories:
Untrained (0-20%)
New to strength training or inconsistent practice
Novice (20-50%)
Several months of consistent training
Intermediate (50-75%)
1-2 years of serious strength training
Advanced (75-95%)
3-5+ years of dedicated training
Elite (95-100%)
Competitive powerlifter level, many years of training
